Making the Admin Workspace browser-ready

SAP SuccessFactors Learning helps companies ensure regulatory compliance and increase employee engagement through growth and development of new skills. For companies to set up learning opportunities for their employees, their admins must use the Learning Administration Workspace to manage learner profiles, content and needs management. For years the flash based Workspace has not changed to keep up with the latest and up-to-date web browsers.

Challenge

Convert all Adobe Flex functionality (flash based UI technology) that is being used in the Learning Administration Workspace to SAPUI5 design system.
Sometimes we rely way too long on a technology that is on the way out. Such is the case with the current Learning Admin and Adobe Flex. Flex is a Adobe flash based UI technology that is being used for the user-interface. Adobe and all major browser have announced the end of support and removal of flash by the end of 2020. This situation has created an urgent need for a short and necessarily fixed length project to remove Flex and convert all Flex functionality to SAPUI5.
